I haven't been on this site in a few years. I attended Curundu Jr. High and Balboa High School from 1980 to 1982. I would have graduated at Balboa but had to move again with my family to South America. I just wanted to see if anyone might remember Ruth and Rebecca(Becky) Woods. Ruth would have graduated in 1984 as well. Her younger sister Becky was a couple of years younger. Anyway, It is good to come back to the site and see all the former students, etc. some of whom I remeber.

I marched in the walkout, I wish we could have done more. For some reason someone wanted us out, it wasn't panama. the treaty passed the senate by one vote, that's BS. It requires 2/3 to defeat a filibuster, so nothing can pass the senate with out 2/3. Politics as usual. I'm now working as a precinct captain for Ron Paul. The US military ousted Dictator Manuel Noriega and brought him back to Florida to face criminal charges. Noriega remains in jail here. For those who don't remember much about the invasion itself, a song by the Panamanian duo Los Rakas might be a good introduction.
Los Rakas includes Ricardo Guillam Bethancourt and Abdull Dominguez. Better known as Rico and Dun Dun, they were just toddlers back in 1989. But their memories of that time are vivid. In their song "Invasion of Panama '89," they use archival news clips and somber lyrics to recount the violence that engulfed their Panama City neighborhoods." Hello everyone. I lived in Panama from 72' through 75'. I was a Army brat living on Ft. Clayton and attended Clayton elementry school. I lived at the bottom of "suicide hill" and remember many of my friends names. If you recognize any of them let me know. Steve and Jeff Duggins (me and my brother)Walter (Wally)Ivanjack, Richard, Sharon and Darlene Streeter, Mark Null, Chris Hayes, ?? Herrick and many others that my memory fails me on. Oh how I miss those days. I lived on Albrook AFB from '85-'89, was in 3-6th grade @ Diablo Elem. We use to miss the bus on purpose and walk home from school. When rainy season came along, we would "slide" down the hills with cardboard when it would be raining really hard. I would never let my kids do that now! We would also make "trails" through the jungle with machete's and pretend we were exploring the jungle. Those were the days. We had it real good back then....

Lived on Ft. Clayton 500 area. Any body heard from Debbie Johnson or her wherabouts? She had 2 sisters {Tracy & Monica} and a brother named Bud. I served at Ft. Davis, was the Honor Graduate of the70 or 1971 class of the JOTC at Ft Sherman and we used to hitch hike seems like 20 miles to a place I knew only as Pina Beach and it was at the mouth of the Tarpon River and was overlooked by an old Spanish Fort. Smoked a lot of Red and Body surfed all day and caught rides back to the fort On the backs of Dumptrucks going 70 mph down an old dirt road that the driver and assistant shoveled full by hand in a half an hour with cheeks bulging with coca leaf. And I remember big Blue butterflies fluttering by! Would appreciate any photos of this part of Panama or links to it! Peace Love and Happiness and I hate Pres. Carter

We lived in Panama for four of the best years of my life. We lived in Farfan and our daughter went to school at Howard. There we met Julie Murphy. I was attending the Canal Zone College where Julie's dad was the college President. Julie became an instant friend. We are going to Panama this summer. The whole family. Kids and their spouces as well as grand kids. Does any one know where Julie might be. She graduated from high school I think in Balboa. We met in 1976. I would really love to here from anyone who can help me find her.

I lived in Cardenas from about 1969 or 1970 until about 1974. My sister is Kendra (Ligon) Kuck. I Attended Los Rios Elementary and Curundu, and Currently live near Gainesville, Florida. Zonians I've been in contact with: Steve Ross, Paul Worley, Kim Boggs, Rob Wallace (as of today!). Susie Walker lives in the Gainesville area, and Debbie and Darla Foh used to live around here. I've lost touch, but used to see Renae Bennet (living in Georgia) every now and then. My parents are Lonnie and Peggy Ligon. My dad was (still is) a Square Dance Caller and I danced with the Snoopy Squares (and if I remember correctly, so did Matthew Armistead!). Anyone out there remember me?

We lived in Panama from 1977 until 1980. Our house was located in the Farfan navy housing, on panther hill.I remember almost getting killed riding the drainage ditches that ran through the housing.Does anybody remember going shelling with Mr. Fink, from Howard elementary?, he was a six grade teacher. Is there anybody that used to go fishing off the pier, at Rodman navy base? I still can't believe how rad the fishing was there. This is the killer web sight, and I'm stoked to have found it.I could talk about all the good times I had in Panama for hours.If anybody was there during 1977-1980 living on HAFB{Farfan,} and remembers me,I would love to talk to you. I live on Albrook AFB from 1974 to 1977 with my father, Carlos Echandy, my mother, Linda Echandy, my sister, Melissa Echandy and my grandmother & great grandmother. I attended Diablo Elementary. The friends I remember most were Rod Valverde, Pat Balzac & Henry Sanchez. Henry was my next door neighbor. I really miss the Canal Zone days and would like to catch up with old friends. My family and I moved from Albrook AFB to Barksdale AFB, LA in 1977.
