Stumbled across this site and can't tear myself away! This is great stuff - ran across a lot of people I've known at all kinds of different times in the years I spent in Panama.
I lived in Corozal from 1965-1977 - Los Rios Elementary, CJHS, BHS. Pretty much lived at Curundu Stables throughout much of that time. Any of you out there that remember me - I'd love to hear from you!

The Canal Zone lives on... I can't really call myself a genuine-Zonian since I was there for only three years (Aug 95-July 98). But deep down, I am sad to see it go...truly a paradise. Keep th ememory strong!

Stan Barrett checking after 20+ years. Found out about this site from a person sitting next to me at Fenway Park. Lived on Albrook from 73-77. Older brother (Robert/Bobby) graduated from BHS in 77.
Ran into Bernie Kelleher in Dallas in 78 and again at Texas A&M in 80's. (Class of '84).
Still have copy of my Curundu JHS yearbooks. Still remember the old coatis that begged/attacked for food at USAFSO.
Camping at Chagres and weekends at the Bohio. Anyone out there know where Chris Aduato, Bernie Kelleher, and others
who went to Diablo Heights or CJHS have them look me up if they come to DC area.

I plan to revisit Colon in a couple of weeks for a short visit. Does anyone still live there that metal detects and/or bottle digs in Panama? I would like to stop by and see some of your goodies that you have found. Are there any old bo ttles from Panama or the Canal Zone (before 1940's)? Shoot me an e-mail. Wife, Jane, died Feb. 17, 1999. She, our son, Billy, and I lived at 1995-B Curundu 1979-1985 or 1986. Bill attended private school in Panama and Catholic elementary school in Balboa. My wife and I plus my brother and 2 cousins (all Panama born except my wife) are planning to be in Panama to applaud the 31 December 99 Canal turnover. We understand that many people are planning to return to the CZ for the "turnover" - does anyone have any idea how many people are forecast? How can I find out? Also, is an itenerary/schedule available from the PCC as to where/when festivities are taking place? Do you know of any website that might have this sort of information. I sense that this will be an event similar to the annual Panama Canal Society Reunion held every year in Florida - does anyone have any idea about this? Any assistance or direction that you can give will be appreciated.

Greetings everybody! God Bless everybody here. Questions:
(1)Any Alumni of BHS Class 1957 out there? (2)Anybody remember the Senior Gift we all gave the school? I know it has been over 42 years and counting........but if my memory serves me right, we broke with tradition. No, not another concrete bench for the cover walkway leading to the gym and buses. No, No, Way.....we gave the BHS Plaque! Does anybody out there remember? Some say it was the class of 1961. I don't think so. I'd check my Zonian Yearbook of 1957, but mine was lost in one of many moves. So, would a classmate do me the great favor and check theirs for me. Thanks. Just want to keep the record straight. If I'm wrong, please advise. I'll do 50 push-ups (heh, heh) Thanks again.

Greetings to those who recognize the name. To those who don't, I lived on the Atlantic side from 68-79. Graduated from CHS and CZC. My parents, Capt Lenny and Ardice Bell were very involved in the community. My sister Janet was married to Kenny Cooper. Life was good. I have enjoyed seeing old friends names and messages as it has brought back many fond memories.We will be going back to Panama in June for one last time and then be back in time for the reunion in Orlando. I'm still looking for Toni Miranda, CHS 69. Anyone know where she is, please let me know.
It has been awhile since my last vist to this site. It is nice to some names I remember. Sure brings back alot of wonderful memories. CHS does not look the same with "the wall" up and pool and stadium torn down. Sad, very sad.
All the 3 bedrooms houses in Coco Solo being torn down.
