I was wondering if anyone was in Mr. Green's class in 1981 (5th Grade)? I was wondering if I can get a copy of the class photo (if there was one). Also, does anyone know anything about Mr. Green and where he might have ended up?

I was wondering if anyone knows these people who once lived on Quarry Heights (and how I can get in contact with them):

I lived on Albrook AFB as a child, between 1966-69. My father ran the Panama Canal Zone college and we lived in base housing. Our house was next to the runway, and I remember the day one of the jets that had taken off suddenly fell out of the sky just a few feet from where I was sitting on a pipe over that passed over the ditch that edged the airfield. We kids used that pipe to sneak to the far side of the field to look for snakes...stupid, I know, as I remember once we discovered a dying Fer-de-lance! BUt that was our idea of fun. Anyway, just a block over was the movie theatre, which was across from the clubhouse. Does any of this seem familiar to someone out there? Here is my reason for asking: I have been reading the empanada recipes posted on this site and others, and they are not the same as the empanadas that we got at the clubhouse. The crust on the clubhouse empanadas was made from corn flour, and then...deep fried? I think? And the filling was different, too. If anyone can help me with the recipe, I would really appreciate it! Through the Jungle Survival School, my father befriended and became bloodbrothers with a Choco chief name Antonio Zapata, and we spent every weekend upriver with the tribe. Several times a year, though, Antonio and his family would come down to stay with us and we kids would take Antonio to the clubhouse to have the empanadas. The servers used to be pretty nervous, what with the Chocos old habits and all, but Antonio would eat 6 or 7 empanadas in a row, and then want to go and see a movie! His favorite was "Cat Ballou", although a close runner-up in his opinion was "Thoroughly Modern Millie". Dad stayed in touch with Antonio, but he never failed to mention how he loved the empanadas. I would really like to know what the corn shell recipe was, so please, if you know it, could you send it on? Thanks in advance!

My dad was stationed at Ft. Gulick although we lived at Ft. Davis (535B , phone # 3222...I can't believe I still remember that!). My brother Johnny and my sisters, Debbie & Angela, all loved it there. It was paradise for a kid! I was 10 and my siblings even younger. We arrived at Ft. Davis in the middle of the night (in the rain) to brand new housing. It turned out that many people on the plane were destined to end up our neighbors! My dad was still on mission in South America and we didn't get to see him for over a month. For the next 2.5 years he was in and out at the Army's convience. I went to school at Ft. Davis the first year and then to Ft. Gulick grade school. It is too bad that kids from the military grade schools didn't have class pictures like the high schools. I don't really remember anyone in my classes from back then. The exception was a little girl named Michelle Robbins who lived at Ft. Gulick. She was my first girlfriend and I always wondered what happened to her. I have always hoped for the best for her. Life's loves and mysteries will always haunt me just like that beautiful place. I am glad I am not the only one with great memories of the canal zone. I guess we were really lucky to experience it! My dad retired in 1967 after 20 years in the Army and we moved to Elgin, Ok, where he went to work at Ft. Sill for 19 years! 39 years with the government! We have lots of pictures of Panama. Hopefully, one day, we will get them scanned in to share them with everyone. Until then...Hi! CZ brats!
