I recently attended a Panama Canal Society luncheon in Cocoa Beach, Florida. What great memories! Good company and lots of laughs! Just a reminder to all of the PCS members....take the time to vote for the board of officers! And as w
e all know...YOUR vote does make a difference! The current board has done a great job bringing the society into the 21st century and I encourage you to vote to keep the current board in office one more year!

I have rehosted a page on one of my internet servers dedicated to my life on the Zone and after. http://canalzone.delta1.org/ is the direct address or http://delta1.com/ to see my ISP home page... In my photo gallery I have 2 1950s phot
os.. One is of the Little Powells captioned (The Little Powells - Margarita (1954?) Top row, l-to-r, Hugo Tompkins, Richard Coppinger, Luigi Pernigotti, Max Hanna, Charlie French, Billy Hitchcock, bottom row, Rusty Weade, Juhn Cronan, Warden French, Luis
French (bat boy), Max Sanders, Keith Kulig, Buzzy Rathgaber. Manager Leslie (Biff) Clarke.) The second is the Little Mottas... I need help with the names if anyone identifies anyone. I confess that, as I sit here I feel I am somewhat presumptuous to belie
ve that "anyone" will be interested in the tales I weave there. I do hope my effort will encourage others to take the time to author their own Canal Zone remembrances which I volunteer to publish on the web. Send them to me via e-mail and I will provid
e the forum for their dissemination on the World Wide Web. Best regards to all.

What great memories I have of my time in Paradise. I played trumpetin the band at Curundu under Mr. Woodruff. I lived next door to him in Balboa. Then moved to Curundu Heights, Howard AFB, then finally Albrook AFB where I joined the Boy
Scouts. I can't seem to find any of the old gang; Gary Doughty and Mike Bartol - fellow trumpet players, or Ishmael Orosco and Kenneth Powers/Gerheart, and Eric Zorn and his sister Leslie. They were some of the closest friends I remember through the year
s. It was an experience that is impossible to describe to someone who has never been there. This is a great web site.
