1/2 pound flour
1 T baking powder
1/2 cup warm water
1 egg
1 tsp sugar
dash of salt
Mix the dry ingredients together, make a "bowl" with the flour and put the egg
and the water in it. Mix well, dough should be a little sticky, drop the dough
on a floured surface and begin to knead. When the dough is ready it will from
a semi-smooth ball. At this time you need to put about a TBSP of oil in a
clean bowl and put the dough in the bowl and turn the dough to cover it with oil.
Cover the bowl with a kitchen towel and let stand for a couple of hours
or over night.
In a deep pot put enough oil so it is about 2 - 3 inches deep and then cut
about a 1 - 2 inch piece of dough and stretch it out and fry.
Hojaldres are good with cheese or bolitas de carne (meatballs with red sauce).
Buen provecho y espero que los disfruten.
