Turtle is an excellent food source of the Chocoes and a typical meal
may be portions of turtle fried in its own grease. However, a more
savory dish is turtle stew, prepared like this:
Clean and cut up the neck and legs of the turtle and steep in lemon
juice, garlic, onion, green pepper, salt, and pepper for a few hours.
Remove from the marinade and fry lightly. Then add the marinade and
one cup coconut milk and cook until the meat is tender.
